Had a nap, woken up twice. First time I had that "where am I now" feeling I get from sleeping too many different places. Decided I liked the decor of the hotel room before realising with a shock that I was in my very on room at home.

Second time was due to the dog going berko. Yup, my yellow tote bag had made it home!

The kids loved the Pop Rocks and other candy/sweets/lollies. Wow. Big surprise.

I'll just go and put on the dinner roast and then crash out a bit more.

thought maybe you were a citizen of the world and a Globetrotter at that! Unless you're really James Bond in disguise or maybe Dr. Evil
.

Heh. Skyring Central, and while I plan to travel the world on an annual basis from now on, combining convention with adventure, I love it best of all here in Canberra, where the roads are wide and the traffic thin, the trees are tall and the parks extensive. And I can make decent pots of tea and coffee at all hours.

I'm just sipping my first stove-top espresso. Much as I like Starbucks and wifi in combination, there's no substitute for the real thing. STE and broadband. With my cat beside me.

Glad you're safely back at home!

Was fabulous meeting you - and if I can possibly manage it I'd like to make a BookCrossing tour of my own in your neck of the woods someday (though it may require lottery-winning of some kind {rueful smile}).

[I started BookCrossing Through Middle-Earth this morning - the cat is not pleased, because I kept laughing out loud, which disturbs the lap-sitting process. History, travel journal, memoirs, BookCrossing, and some hilarious footnotes - good stuff!]

I enjoyed writing the book, but I'm well aware of its shortcomings - combining two trips makes for confusing reading and there's a little bit too much of "we did this and then we did that" especially towards the end.

I've got any number of books in various stages of production, but I think I'll write up my Monopoly adventure in London next.

Glad the bag's made it home, safely, too.

Have to share your 'waking up, admiring decor' story with my family; they'll love it, too.

Rest well, friend. And feel free to scritchy a cat in my name. ;-)

The cats have been welcomed. Rosie, "my" cat, has been missing me a lot and has rarely been more than a few metres away from me since my return. She has been sleeping on my pillow and felt no need to change this when I got my head down for a nap. We conspired by way of compromise.

Have to get down to work soon to set everything in order. I've had a very busy month, what with the New Zealand and RTW trips, and I am sure that there are books unregistered and unjournalled.
