Kerri has been invited to submit a recipe for an International Cookbook!

Sounds exciting, but it's really just her WHO working group doing an online project, and as the Australian representative, Kerri chose lamingtons.

Lamingtons are an Australian delicacy, made up of cubes of sponge cake dipped in dilute chocolate icing and then rolled in dessicated coconut to give a mottled white and brown appearance.

I was roped in to provide the action shots.

In other news, I bought yet another gadget - a headset so that I can make Skype calls without having to speak into a microphone.

"When we found this book we didn't know or realise what 'bookcrossing' was. Thought this may have been left behind by a visitor, backpacker perhaps. A few weeks ago we read an article about bookcrossing and the penny dropped. (We found another book that morning after reading the article in the paper. Thats another story and that book was BCID xxx-3339146) I have read this book and now will let it go. It has been sitting on our bookshelf since Feb 2003 and I suppose Skyring may have given up on this surfacing again but its on its way and I plan to leave it at a camping ground in the Victorian Alps this coming weekend. The book is now off on new adventures."

From this book.

My NaNo is in blog form at http://www.livejournal.com/users/squirtybertie/ and I've begun counting down by making comments on entries that consist of a note saying "read the comments". I won't write any more until 1st November, but until then I'm telling the story of my participation in NaNoWriMo.
