Overcast and drizzly in Canberra today. Good to get the moisture, not so good for drying clothes.

I must have picked up a cold in Brisbane. Only a mild one, but enough to make me feel like I should curl up in bed with a good book and a hot-water cat.

Kerri is going to China followed by Switzerland, and so will be away about two weeks. Her underling gets New Zealand as a consolation prize. Not the best time of year to visit NZ unless you like skiing.

Kerri likes my new cellphone. I picked it with her in mind, so that's good. She'll probably take it overseas with her, so I'll have to work out how to turn roaming on.

DD came back from prac teaching with pictures of her lessons, which involved the students doing a mural of the solar system and building bridges out of drinking straws.

DS is doing work experience and complaining of boredom. He dusts the displays and then stands around watching the movies on the TVs, trying to "look professional". He looks the part in his dark trousers, shirt and tie.

We're all off to Sydney this weekend with Kerri's younger sister and family. Should be fun, and we'll stop at Picton on the way back.

Voting has begun for the 2006 Australian BookCrossing convention. Looks like Adelaide and Canberra are neck and neck.

LOL, we have a work experience boy at the moment and I think he's bored too. Only he gets to clean up dog piss and the like. So you should tell DS he's got it good ;)

Bron, seeing you on Friday?

I'll be there on Friday. DS is "working" in the electrical section in HN, but his lunchtime tastes run more to McDonalds than Guru Coffee!

hot water cat...heh

I want a cat again so much! mr czuk keeps trying to convince me that we should get a robotic one. "They purr and everything!" I know he's thinking of my lungs (and the litter box) but robo-kat is just not the same.

Sigh. And I thought I married a romantic...

Rosie-cat either shares my pillow, which can be a bit of a squeeze, or crawls underneath and curls up against my tummy.

Claude is used to sharing DD's sleeping bag and is more an "in your face" cat. Seeing as that spot's reserved for whatever book I'm trying to read, I choof him off and he goes to sulk at the foot of the bed.

But I do like to read in bed with the sound of happy cat purrs somewhere around.

Get well soon. Colds are miserable.

I have had a headache for two days now, and am suffering from major apathy. It's the old pre-trip angst/depression that hits me every time.
