[identity profile] skyring.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Heheheheh. The title says it all!

[identity profile] elhamisabel.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Mhmm. At 1 am in the morning I seem to e unable to get the deeper meaning of the bloody title.
I'm off to bed. ;-)

Oh, OK. "The Buzz" Goodnight, Elhamisabel!

Nighty night!

Video clips??

[identity profile] skyring.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Yup! I make no doubt that we're going to get deluged in video clips of interesting releases!

[identity profile] rarsberry.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Are they meant to work yet?
I clicked on a link and got nothing.

[identity profile] skyring.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Well, they worked for me. What happens is that the viedo appears in the window at the top of the list.

[identity profile] rarsberry.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
I was able to play the first one as it was there, but the links don't open a new video.
They just give me the title of the video.
Maybe there are sill problems or its my computer......

[identity profile] texaswren.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
Doesn't work for me either, except the first one-abc7.
When I click the others, the title jumps to the to of the list but no video ever shows up.

They're working for me. Oh great, another thing to waste time and bandwidth on! :-)

I hope the "exciting things" will someday include the features that I've been requesting for ... what? 5 years now without a response?

I can honestly say that the inability to edit release zone "shortcuts" has prevented me from making release notes in months, possibly years.

I guess that, since it isn't a related to bookrings and trading, it will never happen. The only improvements I ever see are things that have nothing to do with wild releasing, which seems to just be a thing of the past at bookcrossing.

They make it easier and easier to trade and maintain bookrings while making it harder to wild release. I guess I'm just nostalgic for the days when bookcrossing started and wild releasing was the priority.

Cliff tested a release zone shortcut fix a while back which was pretty handy, but it never got implemented. I'm hoping, with Cliff now working for BookCrossing full time, that a lot of these "on-hold" wishes will be implemented.

[identity profile] annulla.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I hope so. That survey they created (whoever "they" may be) was a big disappointment, no only because of the problems with functionality but also because the features they plan to implement have nothing to do with what I'd always regarded as the primary purpose of bookcrossing. Ah, well.

[identity profile] bookczuk.livejournal.com 2007-03-06 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Patience! New servers are coming, and then work can begin on the bugs. From what I understand, this was just a little something that could be done until the "real" work can happen. (and from what I undersatnd, it'll be an overhaul to get rid of all the patches and bandaids that are holding the site together. Now more candle wax and string to make fixes, but real code and IT type stuff. Or so I'm told.)

And there are features planned for helping those of us who aren't traders, but maybe a perk or two for the traders as well.
