For the First Time, Disappointment

skyringThat's the subject of a post by Reno on the Wild Animus discussion forum , possibly in reaction to a post I made where I pointed out some things about the book and the author and suggested that it was a publicity stunt based around exploiting the title of "Most Popular Book" on Bookcrossing.
I'm rather upset about this, not least because of the tension this book has generated amongst Bookcrossers. So far as I can see, few people who have actually read it have expressed positive feelings, many have been actively hostile, and there has been a good deal of investigation into the actions of the author. The Bookcrosser "vincentmillay" is almost certainly the author, who has given the book ten ratings of 10. The cost of sending out thousands of "Advance Review Copies" to anyone who requests one must have been immense, probably well in excess of anything the author could ever hope to recoup from sales, let alone profits.
The fear I have, which I didn't express on the site, is that the author has made a large donation to Ron to help out Bookcrossing (which must cost a packet to run) and expects a quid pro quo.
