West Wing. How I love this show!

The ABC has picked it up and is showing an episode or two each week. Still on the fifth series (which I've got on DVD). Tonight we had "Eppur Si Muove" and "The Supremes" as a double feature. Top notch drama.

I've grown to love the marvellous synergy of the team. Perhaps the only other show that comes close is M*A*S*H, another personal favorite.

I watch West Wing with subtitles on, but even then there are a great many subtleties I miss. It's a show that rewards re-viewing. Soon we'll be into uncharted territory, namely the sixth and seventh seasons, and my Thursday nights will become sacred territory.

And I don't think I'm alone in wishing that Jed Bartlett were in the White House now.

A glorious winter day today. Clear blue sky, no wind, just plain gorgeous.

And I'm coming down with a cold. Buggerbuggerbugger. I'll be feeling very seedy tomorrow and Saturday, but I should be on the upward climb on Monday for our monthly BookCrossing gathering.

Kerri came home after a hard day and collapsed on the couch with a dram of something while DD and I made dinner, chuckling over Steve Irwin's pepper grinder, which we hold hostage, and cheerfully use in food preparation. Fritatta tonight, which isn't on the limited list of meals I can cook without supervision, but DD did most of the hard work and I contented myself with boiling vegetables and cutting stuff up. Worked out beautifully.

I've taken the bandaid off my injured finger, but it's still too tender to use for anything much.

Let's see. Reading Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency. Wonderful book.

Audiobook is a Stephen Leather thriller "the Eyewitness", which is, as usual, edge of the seat stuff. Violence and crime and moral issues and exotic locations.

Nonfiction is Clarence Day's "Life with Father", which I'm reading one delightful chapter at a time.

I love the WW too! Adrian is meant to be going to Prague tomorrow, and if he is I have a Sunday planned on the sofa with me and Josh Lyman!! I'm only part-way through Series 5 on DVD and have series 6 waiting for me (and 7 of course!).

It's a great series. Well written and intelligent which makes a nice change for TV programs these days.

When my friends and I went to LA we went on the WB studio tour. We saw the WW set and even saw a couple of the actors who were very nice and smiley at us (which was a change from some of the other people we saw). It was one of the highlights of my trip.
