Pete and Bron
Jul. 28th, 2006 12:26 pmI dragged CoffeeBron along to the ABC studios today. As usual, felt like a total dag beside Bron in her elegance and hand-knitted scarf. At least I was wearing my Toronto t-shirt.
We had maybe 15-20 minutes in the studio, chatting with Alex Sloan, who was lovely, putting me at my ease and letting me rabbit on about BookCrossing. Bron and her silver tongue saved it from being totally geekoid.
Everyone on the studio team commented about the emails coming in from all over the world. I didn't hear the show immediately before or after the segment (still hunting for the code to the car radio...) but I got home in time to hear Alex read out an email from Caffcaff, talking about BookCrossing and Tim Tams and how she had met me here and there.
Bron and I left some books in the studio, including one of Caffcaff's: The Bloke From Bugga Up Downs
And here are the others:
Playing With Fire from Woosang
Stop That Girl: A Novel in Stories
Madame Bovary
A Darkness More Than Night
There's a picture of me there with a totally bogus cheesy grin.
Once again, thanks for sending the emails, everyone. They say that they'll be streaming by the end of the year. I'll have to listen to them, which shouldn't be hard - Bron listens to 666 exclusively and they seem ike an interesting bunch. My evenings are the property of JimOn and Jenny K-T on BBC Radio Shropshire and Guernsey respectively, however!
