Late night hours at the War Memorial. I wanted to see the current art exhibition, so I went along. Kangaroos again as I parked the car, but no photographs this time.

The exhibition was good, and I saw a lot of new paintings. And some old favorites.

Another bonus was that the spaces where the paintings had hung on the walls of the regular galleries were now free for some temporary displays of even more rarely seen art.

I took a look through the rest of the memorial - really, it's impossible to do more than glance in anything less than a day - before heading out to the commemorative area for the closing ceremony, a bugler playing "The Last Post" against the beautifully lit dome and side galleries. I got a few photographs, but this is really a subject where I need a tripod.

I'm woefully behind with my book. At the moment I'm going through the sequence of photographs, tying in the releases to real times. My camera had Australian time on it (or maybe Singapore time) which worked out to five hours earlier on the following day or some dam' thing. I had to zoom in on the clock tower at St Pauls cathedral so I could check the camera time against London time.

This has helped to sort out what happened when, because a lot of the BC entries and LJ entries were made on different computers with different times. Posting an entry from an Australian computer through a London internet cafe to an American website can result in some odd timestamps.
