Light show
Jan. 13th, 2006 12:11 amLate night hours at the War Memorial. I wanted to see the current art exhibition, so I went along. Kangaroos again as I parked the car, but no photographs this time.
The exhibition was good, and I saw a lot of new paintings. And some old favorites.
Another bonus was that the spaces where the paintings had hung on the walls of the regular galleries were now free for some temporary displays of even more rarely seen art.
I took a look through the rest of the memorial - really, it's impossible to do more than glance in anything less than a day - before heading out to the commemorative area for the closing ceremony, a bugler playing "The Last Post" against the beautifully lit dome and side galleries. I got a few photographs, but this is really a subject where I need a tripod.
