the Prankster

(34% dark, 34% spontaneous, 27% vulgar)

your humor style:
CLEAN | COMPLEX | LIGHT

Your humor has an intellectual, even conceptual slant to it. You're not pretentious, but neither are you into what some would call 'low humor'. You'd laugh at a good dirty joke, but you definitely prefer something clever to something moist.

You probably like well-thought-out pranks and/or spoofs and it's highly likely you've tried one of these things yourself. In a lot of ways, yours is the most entertaining type of humor.

Late afternoon at the Skyring house. DD, has the afternoon off, so she goes to collect DS, who has a sore leg and is unable to walk home. He has to be torn away from his girlfriends. I think the reason DD offers to pick him up is so she can keep an eye on his love life, such as it is.

Anyway, as with teenage boys, first thing home after school and he wants something to fill in the gap between lunch and dinner, so he makes up a mess of two-minute noodles. To do this he has to clean the small saucepan, and I walk in with a load of laundry just as he's scrubbing away at it.

"Rub a dub dub - three men in a tub!" I say. Goodness knows where that came from.

"You gotta wonder about that," he replies.

And we both fall about laughing. Neither of us, until that moment, had connected the nursery rhyme with anything but a jolly voyage.

Someone was fussing on chit-Chat about the use of BookCrossing on eBay. I took a look at the item and it seemed fairly innocuous. But somehow the site must have stuck in my head, because this arvo I found myself going through the site looking for old SPI boardgames. I was looking for bargains - I know the values of most of these things and I found a few that were undervalued. I put in a few bids on the offchance that they would stay that way. Buying a $50 game for $10 leaves me a considerable amount of room for profit, even including postage.

A thought crept through my mind, and I entered "West Wing" as a search term. And before I knew it, I had bought a series 5 DVD set for $AUS75, which is a big saving on the same item new in the shops. Such a fine show! Looking forward to this immensely. I'll watch an episode a day at lunchtime.
