I unfriended tiggysbabes today. I don't feel real good about this, because I try to friend anybody who friends me, but I cannot honestly say that I am interested in page after page of the doings of small folk. I appreciate the love and effort that goes into the journal, but it's not quite my cup of tea.

Which leads me to wonder what journals I really like. Mutual interests, of course, such as Bookcrossing. Or writing. or travel.

Witty journals. Journals that make me smile or think.

Emotional journals. Journals that make me feel for the writer, share their triumphs and tragedies.

Journals of people I know.

I can put up with a certain amount of things that bore the socks off me, such as knitting or fast cars or horses, but there's got to be something to keep me interested.

I probably should look at my Bookcrossing friends list as well. Bookcrossing doesn't seem to do much with this information. In LJ it's crucial, because I get a great deal of pleasure from reading the journals of my friends, but in BX, it doesn't really matter if someone's a friend or not. It's really just a link to bookshelves, and I tend to go to my own and edit the URL, changing Skyring to Friendsname, if I want to look at their bookshelf.

And finally it did. All my socks are on the line, but that's OK. I'm grateful for the rain.

Only a drizzle, really, and not much, but I'm grateful. I really am. We've had bugger-all for months.

Claude the cat is still limping along on three paws. His front passenger-side paw is still swollen and weeping a bit. If it hasn't drained by tomorrow, he's going back to the vet. Gave him some more of the painkiller - powder mixed into butter and smeared on his fur - in the hope that he'll put some weight on the paw and stir around the pus inside. The weeping is probably a good sign. A day left on the antibiotics, so we'll have to act soon.

Thursday is DD going to the optometrist for glasses. She's complaining of poor distance vision. Reminds me of my younger days on the nude beach. Without my glasses I could tell if other people were male or female, but not by how much. And I've got a lunchtime Microsoft session. Forget what it's about, but i can walk into town where they are holding it in O'Malleys pub. Might listen to the presentation over a pint of Guinness.

Kerri gets home on Friday. Not sure what time, but she'll let me know beforehand so I can pick her up.

And Monday is my Bookcrossing talk to the literature students at UofC. Have to get my laptop off Kerri and work up some sort of presentation.
