Amazing footage.
Nov. 2nd, 2005 08:50 pmDidn't see it until tonight but somehow a block of flats is busy falling into the Lane Cove Tunnel being built in Sydney. Interesting to see the tunnel constructors trying to put a positive spin on this. If it were me, I'd snap, Yeah, it's a bloody disaster, stop asking silly questions!
An aerial shot showing the moment this huge hole opened up. A car speeding past only metres away. Bits falling into this huge chasm. My daughter tells me that it's still falling in. She's fascinated.
In other news, it's been a busy day. Dropped the dog off for some dental work and picked her up this afternoon, doing my best to conceal the blood draining from my face when I was given the bill. Over the life of a dog, I reckon the purchase price is the LOWEST item in the total cost, so you might as well buy a good one, because you are going to be spending thousands on dog food alone.

In between I waited for the chap from the curtain shop to come measure for the curtains that are coming out of my tax refund. Naturally he arrived at the far end of the two hour window he'd given us.
Dropped Kerri off at Parliament House for Senate Estimates. This grand old Canberra tradition consists of Opposition senators torturing senior public servants in the hope that they will crack under pressure and reveal some Government embarrassment. Had to drive all the way out to her work so she could pick up her good jacket which she had left there. Had just enough time to make her a quick toasted sandwich in the few minutes she was home. Which she's still not. I'll get a call to pick her up in due course. Got a stern word from a cop at the Senate entrance that I shouldn't drop her off there and he showed me where I could pick her up. I got the feeling it wasn't his first warning this evening!
And I went around half of DS's junk mail run after dinner. He's terrible slow, but I'm sure he'll improve. As I tell him, it's either that or flipping burger patties!
