The Booking
Oct. 13th, 2005 09:22 pmI've been slack. Amy and Heather both sent me packages and I waited until the last few minutes before heading off to Monday's Booking before I lined all the goodies up against a wall and shot 'em. The "Dark side of the Force" M&Ms are long gone, I'm afraid, but here we see a mixture of books, BookCrossing goodies, cards, goodies and whatnot. Many thanks to fsr44 for the "Sentimental Swing" CD. All very much appreciated, and I hug myself for having such wonderful friends!

I was first into Starbucks, but I barely had time to lay a foundation level of books before Aussie-Nisi and Othlon arrived, closely followed by Peggysmum. And then in strode Unbalanced, carrying a box of books in each arm. Cheers, whistles, standing ovation!

L-R Peggysmum, Othlon, Unbalanced's daughter, Unbalanced, Aussie-Nisi.
She's nine years old, she's cute as anything, and she was very well behaved, filling in a couple of pages of Aussie-Nisi's puzzle book. Calissa and her mum arrived, along with HotFrog and a new member whose name escapes me.
We had the usual pleasant time discussing books and BookCrossing. We may be able to run a stall at a local market next month, which would be fun.
And then we picked up all the books that hadn't been claimed - including some excellent books that I'd be happy to grab if I didn't have a pile of books to be read that would be a local landmark if I stacked them up on my front porch - and left them on the mantelpiece for others to read. Generally the staff raid the leftovers as soon as we clear the building, and there were some pippins left behind, including a copy of Jennifer Government.

Peggysmum, Unbalanced (in visor), AussieNisi stack the shelf.

AussieNisi and Othlon smile for the camera!
