Some solid insights

I'm extending the Songlines theme into Canberra as a nexus of thoughtlines. Sacred sites that aren't really. Putting some good thoughts down, even if the words aren't as polished as they could be. Linking to Bookcrossing.

Sold a little paperback today. $35 because it's fairly hard to find. Sold it to a young lady who had been searching all over the world and finally found it in my list. She lives down the street from me. Heh.

The stock I sold short last week has dropped. A little late, but there it is. Buying back at 15c cheaper - nice little profit there. Help pay for the wife buying up big on new clothes for Sweden. She got her travel approved today, so it's on. Just needs the official passport to be delivered.

Paris in November. Not too sure about the weather. If all works out we can celebrate our next anniversary in Paris. That'd be nice. Might try for a week in London by myself. Round the world ticket with a day or two in Los Angeles. Space out the long flights with a lot of sack time in a youth hostel. Have to research possibilities.

Lunchtime TV was another watching of A Beautiful Mind with the Ron Howard commentary over. Excellent.

The youth hostel in Santa Monica is quite nice. I've stayed there. There aren't as many hostels here in the USA as in Aus or the UK, but there are at least two in LA, I think.

When would you be there?

Paris in the Fall

At the moment I'm not sure of the dates. My wife might not even be going, but if she does, I want to be there too!

There would be three days in Paris and with a round the world ticket I'd be keen to spend some time in London and the USA on either side of that. Probably about two weeks away all told.

I'm used to youth hostels as cheap and cheerful accomodation. Share accomodation and cook-yer-own tucker.

Yep! Have stayed in many, many youth hostels in Germany, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales (and one in the USA).

I will be in England/Scotland in late September/October. I'm sure you'll post about it if/when you get to come over!
