A new mobile

My old CDMA cell phone charger blew up a month or so back, and as usual I've left it till the last moment to get a new phone. I wanted something i could use overseas, something light and something with a flip top so Kerri could use it. With an hour left before COB I hit the Telstra shop, only to find that their cheapest fliptop was a bit more than I wanted to pay. $30 a month max, thanks!

Quick dash to the one in Civic, selected the model I wanted in a couple of minutes and we then spent the next twenty minutes on hold waiting for Telstra HQ to change some code on my record.

And now I've got a neat little phone with more features than I could possibly use. I guess I'll have to load up all the dongles and software and RTFM. Heaven knows where I'll find the time. This Bluetooth headset is probably a cool feature but it looks like more trouble than I really need.

Still and all, I'll need a phone on the road, and this one I can tuck into a pocket.

hehe I remember when I worked for warranty exchange for wireless phones. People would call in saying there was something wrong with their phone, and it was actually that they had actually accident activated a feature they didn't know they had. I remember one time I informed a customer that he had a "pocketnet" phone...that he could connect with the internet. He told me that it couldn't. He had no idea what capabilities he had. All I can say is, always keep your owners manual, just in case! I'm sure that you are more savvy than some of the people I spoke to (like didn't know that the phone wasn't ringing because it was set on silent), but it doesn't hurt!
