skyringLovely sunny weather at the moment!
We could use rain.
Claude (our brown Burmese boy) is having territorial interactions with a new arrival from a couple of houses away. Got into a fight a day or so ago and yesterday he began limping. Took him to the vet this morning - looks like he's got an infected paw and he's on a regime of antibiotics and painkillers. He's got a taste for battle and he's got scars here and there. And a history on the vet card of being brought in and patched up. He's such a placid cat otherwise. He was good as gold on the vet's bench. Even began purring.
Rosie, our other cat, learnt her lesson early on. She's got a tiny little nick out of one ear, barely visible, but she's never gone out looking for trouble since. This is not to say that she isn't brave - I saw her chase off an inquisitive dog once while our little terrier merely poked her yapping head out of the cat flap - but she's a lot less expensive to look after!
Went into town yesterday and bought a hundred Euros so Kerri has some money for taxis and trains when she arrives in Berlin. She's off on Sunday morning, getting back on Friday. I wish I was going with her, but I think I've pretty much drained my travel budget for a while!
Last two nights have been pizza - first with DD using frozen pizza bases and last night with Kerri making her own dough. I don't think we're going to drive Pizza Hut out of business any time soon, but then again it's good to get out of the same old meals every night. I'm good at a limited repertoire, but I get out of my comfort zone real quick.
