Catching up.
Picked up the tickets for my New Zealand trip. Really angry over this whole schemozzle. In contrast to the Washington trip where I rolled in day before travel announced I wanted to fly to far side of world and it all went like clockwork, this trip to NZ that I booked way back in November has been real pain in bum. Charged twice, original flights switched around. Didn't investigate car hire, Canberra flights, missed the only direct Sydney-Dunedin flight, picked the wrong airline.
Oh well, at least we've got the tickets, accomodation and car hire booked, paid for convention fees. Just have to hand over a lot of money and buy some tucker and relax for a week.
Driving up the evening before, staying in B--L's flat, leisurely drive to airport the next morning. Early dinner at Christchurch, evening flight down to Dunedin, night time arrival at B&B.
Should be magic.

It'll be magic..you have all the right ingredients...
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something has arrived in the mail for you. Please tell me it did, and you're just tormenting me by not journaling! I sent it out 2 weeks ago and it was supposed to take a week to get there. Drat the US Postal service!
Alan and I are having lunch today at a new bakery/cafe for our real anniversary. We make plans for fancy things and then never get round to them. This is better. And the new place is intrested in BookCrossing (someone, can't imagine who, has left a few books there and it caught the owner's eye...http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/1303677 ) (Note that it's an Amy book!) My sweetheart, good food and bookcrossing...sound perfect to me!

In other news, the heat spell continues.
I shall poke my nose into the post office and see if I can sniff out an answer.
