skyringFinished my "Net Concept" painting about lunch time. I'm not terribly happy with it, but it's not entirely a lightweight piece. I was pleased that the young lady at the framing place took a step back and said "Oh, I get it!" That's encouraging. I think she liked "the blue and red one" better. Suggested a more rounded moulding for it.
They have promised to have them both done tomorrow evening. That will give me enough time to go over them with the titanium white and cover up a few minor errors. And sign them. And take photographs which I forgot to do in the rush to get them into the shop.
Got some NZ money for the trip. Worked out I was paying more in Aussie dollars than I was getting back in Kiwi dollars. Humph.
Dropped in at the travel agent to pick up my tickets. Noticed a few changes to flights, putting us into Dunedin a couple of hours later than I expected. Got to get this sorted out otherwise we'll arrive and find that the rental car office closed and us stranded. Really, I could shoot the bloke who arranged this stuff up. Give me sweet, organised Tessa P anytime. She can organise a trip around the world in ten minutes. I'll have to go in again tomorrow.
Spent a pleasant half hour with Krisana at Gilbert's Books. She shouted me a cappucino and we talked books and travel and art for all too brief a time. Walked home via the barber shop where I dropped in for a cut and polish.
Time for bed. i've spent far too much time painting and posting. And I've got a pile of TBR books I couldn't read in a year.
