Space Shuttle Launch

This photo just blew me away when I saw it. Hey, I've BEEN there. Mind you, I didn't quite have this view, but the way they were lining up the jets, I could have if I'd been tailgunner or something.

It's now set as my desktop background. The best possible freebie resolution is plenty enough for me.

There is another similar phot on the site. Maybe more. So it's fair dinkum. I suspect that there must be a light aircraft flight path running along the coast. It would have to be fairly rigidly controlled, but the opportunity would be there. Still, it looks like the photographer is going to have a jumbo in his lap in a moment, doesn't it?

Damn, that's an impressive picture, regardless of how it was created. However, something about the angle gives me a bit of vertigo, so I can't look at it for very long. I think I'll keep my current desktop images for now.

Taken out of context, uh, yeah. Hmm...

Oh! Oh, you naughty woman!

But you know, I'll bet you are 100% right, after taking a picture like that, I reckon he'd be a hardened photographer.

Duck and cover!

Impressive photo. I agree with Shen's vertigo (but mainly so I can mention getting the U2 CD with the song "Vertigo" today on sale for 10.00 USD).

Vertigo misplaced

I think Shen had other feelings about the picture...

That's ok, no hard feelings.....

Have I called you a nerd today?

I particularly enjoyed the photographer's comment about how having a jet coming straight at you beat shuttle launches and topless women in SXM.'

Inspiring stuff.

Bron, poking finger at the ready.

Thanks, Bron! My nerdly characteristics are firmly in evidence. SXM, BTW is the airport code for the Netherlands Antilles, where fantastic sights are to be seen, both topless and undercarriage.

You may poke at leisure.

Hey I recognise that beach...they used it in some advert...the message was be aware of WHY you got that holiday deal so cheap!!

Nerdly...I like that word. Reminds me of 'kindly', which you are, though not so much in the grandfather-in-tartan-slippers way that the word implies.

OK, enough of me thinking out loud.

;)
