Q for Miles
Yesterday was full on at the PO. I joined the queue inside the post office at 4:30 and got to the counter a few minutes before five, at which time the queue had stretched out the door and onto the footpath, and the young lady working the counter was looking at a solid hour's work before she could go home. To make things worse, some of the vital bits had stopped working. She couldn't print up labels, so everybody got stamps instead. I only had a couple of parcels, but one of them must have had twenty stamps on it!
I've still got a backlog of about a dozen books that need to go out. ***SIGH***
I'm off to Sydney again next Monday to pick up the returning daughter. We get to spend the night in brother-in-law's currently vacant flat, fourteen floors above Hyde Park in the middle of town. Kerri suggested a ferry ride to Manly in the arvo, and that sounds like fun. And early the next morning we go to meet DD's flight, and I suspect we'll have a solid two hours of traveller's tales on the way back home to Canberra!

'Tis the season...
