Snow Leopard
Oct. 5th, 2009 10:55 amI bought the three in one pack of iLife, Snow Leopard and iWork. A discount on buying all three seperately, but realistically I only need iLife for the new version of iWeb, which I hope will get my site back to being able to see comments made by readers. Snow Leopard, well, because it's always nice to have the latest OS, and this seemed to run faster and have a few more nifty features. Nothing amazing, but still good.
And iWork. Hmmm. I've got Office, so i don't really need it, but whatthehell.
Snow Leopard installed first. There was a note to this effect but I would have installed the OS upgrade first anyway. It worked away for well over an hour, despite stating that it would only take 45 minutes, and that "less than a minute" note went fro about fifteen minutes or so before the progress bar finally made those last few pixels and it was done.
It rebooted okay and it seems to be working fine. I might play with the features later on.
iLife is what I really wanted, and that was next up. Took a while to install, but again that went fine.
I thought there might be two versions of (say) iPhoto 08 and iPhoto 09, but it looks to have overwritten the old ones.
Trying to publish my website, it's been about twelve hours, and no joy yet, though at least now I've got it to the stage where the pages are visible and usable.
The icon is indicating that there are six comments waiting, but as I haven't yet successfully published the entire site, I may not ever see 'em. We'll see.
