Lowtwitter

I've turned off LoudTwitter, the webthing that accumulates tweets and posts 'em up once a day. No substitute for a proper blog entry.

Besides, out of the immediate context, they look rather silly and odd. Brilliant when your Twitter friends are tweeting away, having microconversations and posting nifty links, not so good in a digest.

But I'm having fun with Twitter all the same. I thought twitterers were just plain weird before I sighed and signed up. Now, the first thing I do in a spare moment is check Twitter.

I set it up so that the @comments don't ship to my LJ, because yeah, those don't make any sense when shipped.

But I agree, they don't replace a real update. I like them when I don't have anything in particular to say, but I'm trying to make sure I post regular journal entries as well.

I have a mental block when it comes to twitter. If I am short of time, the twitter posts are the first ones I pass over. I don't know why, but it doesn't float my boat at all

for some time i've ignored twitter posts because they made no sense to me (not a user). but recently, as strange as they may seem, i started reading the @comments in some people's journals, not following the links and they ARE funny on their own.
but, they don't beat a regular journal entry...

Praise the lord. You have done the right thing. I was beginning to wonder (even more than usual) about you

I only just found Twitter - so will keep going a bit longer - but as shendoah says leaving the @replies off does help the flow.

I'm glad you've turned it off. Now I can read your interesting posts again!
