I feverishly registered a pile of books, waiting until the very last
moment, as usual.

Then I packed them into my stout yellow Bookcrossing bag, put on my
Bookcrossing clobber, and hauled them down to the polling booth in the
school hall.

It was a bit of a fre-for-all outside the booth, with party workers
covering all the entrances and trying to ensure that nobody got in
without a how to vote card. I joined them and tried to give every
voter a book, my daughter wildly snapping pictures as I buttonholed
everyone from a schoolchild to the Chief of the Australian Defence
Force.

Some declined with thanks, some were wildly enthusiastic and some were
suspicious. But it was all good fun and I got a few chances to explain
what it was all about.

I'm now waiting for the results to roll in. Vote [X] Bookcrossing.com.

You are fortunate; that sounds like it was fun. In the USA, there's a rule about not distributing literature near a voting place.

I vote :) for Bookcrossing.
