Back in the Service

I was supposed to be driving Taxi 144 for a few more days, but the owner gave me Taxi 58 for Wednesday. This is a Silver Service Fairlane, one of the three (TX-58, TX-81 and my own TX-112) that the fleet went into business with about this time last year.

A pleasure, a very great pleasure, to be driving Silver Service again. The car's a dream to drive, lots of room, passengers always impressed and well-behaved, six CDs on tap etc.

I also get to pick it up each afternoon from O'Connor, which reduces my travel time to a few minutes day and night. After driving until three in the morning, the last thing I want is to spend another half hour driving home, so this is much appreciated.

I'm always a happy cabby, but I'm an even happier one now.

Temporary, I fear, but I dare say that I'll be a Silver Service driver mostly. So long as I get the hours in and earn the income, I'll get the good cars.
