Left Paris in the morning, Birmingham by lunchtime, Shrewsbury for afternoon tea.

We've had a marvellous day with the Fat Bastard Tour Company, going through some of the local sights. Dodging rain and looking at green
rolling hills, browsing through the bookshops of Much Wenlock, where one kind bookseller made us a pot of tea!

Ironbridge and Cardingmill and the Abbey and the Roman city. We saw it all and had the benefit of a wonderful guide, full of stories and
little-known facts.

So very glad to be here. Not just in beautiful Shropshire, but in the company of Charlie and Maretta, who are two absolute darlings.

Kerri and I have travelled the world, to be sure, but this is heaven.
