I'm getting a huge kick out of seeing FutureCat and Evelyn plan their ambassadorial trips.

My own upcoming trip is already mostly planned, except for a bit in between Paris and London. Shrewsbury, probably. I picked up the cruise tickets on Thursday, and there's only the accommodation vouchers to collect. We're paid, insured and all but ready to go.

But a lot of work to do at home yet. I need to clear out my office by the end of January, and that's ten years of accumulated stuff.

Maybe. Roughly pencilled in is to leave Paris on the 12th, take the train to London, then on to Shrewsbury. That's Sunday. Thursday we arrive at our London hostel. In between, we'll see.

Wheee! That is so exciting!

When will you arrive in London? Hubby and I will be there from April 5 onward and then head home straight after the convention. I'm hoping to get our accommodation booked this week.

Cheers,
S

We arrive in London on 12 April, then on to Shrewsbury. Return on the 17th. Leave on the 21st. Not set in concrete yet.

I took a quick peek at accommodations and it was very expensive. The convention is a few minutes walk from my favorite hotel, but I've always stayed there for business and got reimbursed. Paying on my own it is quite a bit more than I want to spend on a convention.

I know what you mean! It has taken quite a lot of searching to find anything that even comes near my budget, and that's with access to travel agent and Marriott employee discounts.

Yay forall the planning! :-D

You go and declutter your office. WHY are you STILL reading this? ;-P

My advice for decluttering is:

just chuck everything out! (not that I live by this advice!)

You know, you can live without most of that stuff in there :-). Just get the birth certificates, passports and insurance stuff and chuck in a match ;-). No, really, when I was commuting Mon-Fri to another town, and lived out of a suitcase for three years basically, I found how little I *really* need. Helped me a lot in letting go of "stuff".

I am watching all those people planning for London and for the German Convention in June in Hamburg...- still can't say whether I can make it. I might just go and book anyway. The London train ticket is refundable, don't know about hostel beds though.
