Looking at this article (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/11/07/2083733.htm), I am amused by the fact that in the UK, it is legal for a pregnant woman to urinate anywhere she wants, even if that place happens to be a policeman's hat.

It's also a crime to die in Parliament. Presumably not a capital offence.

I don't think the law about needing to let anyone use your loo if you live in Scotland is well known. And a good thing too. I hate to think who could end up knocking on the door.

More research needed, but it's intriguing, right enough. Would it be a defence if the victim was not Scottish, but merely wearing a kilt, or maybe a plaid dress?

And can you be Scottish by adoption or marriage or just by living there since infancy?

Hard to see how it could work as a murder mystery, unless the murderer was a barrister or someone with a good legal knowledge.
