NaNoWriMo kickoff meeting on Sunday. Promises to be a weekly event. Not sure about losing an hour or so each week, but it's good to keep inspired with other sufferers.

I tried having the laptop in the cab a couple of nights back. It fits nicely under the seat, I've got a power inverter for it, but I'm a little worried about some of my dodgier passengers being tempted, and besides, by the time I get it unfolded and resumed, there's usually not much time left before I'm getting my next job. The muse needs time to get flowing again, and if I have a reasonably busy night there's not the time. Besides, it's hard to type, even if I twist sideways and balance it on the console.

I was only writing a few notes. The real thing started last night and I could hardly wait for midnight. I ducked into the airport newsagent and got a new Moleskine to write in. Sure, I'll have to transfer the text to my computer, but it's a lot handier for writing, and any excuse for a new Moleskine, hey! Love the feel of these journals - almost a shame to sully them with my scrawl.

Up to 589 words so far. There's the evening yet. My target is 2 000 words a day. My characters are stirring into life. Just realised that the main female character is a knitter, has to be a knitter.

When I start posting chapters, I'll be wanting comments on knitting techniques, and corrections for howlers.
