Lazy Sunday
Jul. 16th, 2007 08:51 pmTwo fifteen hour night shifts on Friday and Saturday nights. Friday night/Saturday morning was probably a record for me. Even though I had an hour's nap around midnight each time, I was pretty flat when I got back home around 0700 on Sunday morning. Crashed out and was woken about half nine. Quick shower and shave, and then off to see Harry Potter and the Latest Installment at Dendy in town at ten.
Raced in to get tickets and good seats, spotted Awaywithfairies in passing, but too far away and not enough time to go and find her and give her a hug (she's a darling, a traveller, a BookCrosser, a serial conventioneer).
"Awaywithfairies!" I yelled, leaning down over two escalators, "AwwwwwaaaaaayyyyywithFAIRIES!!!!!!"
"Shut up, you idiot," said my dear wife, "They'll hear you."
Got our seats, went out for some much needed coffee and came back with about a litre of latte, which kept me awake for the whole movie - how embaraasing to be caught snoring in a new HP!
Enjoyed it - I was a little worried about this one, because the book was long and complicated, but the movie managed to get the guts of it in, albeit no quidditch and very little of Harry's home life.
Afterwards I frolicked in Borders for a while. I got a moleskine appointment book for the cab, and a visual German dictionary.
"Ich bin ein Starbucker," said my daughter, and we headed off for coffee and a snack.
Then home to catch up on sleep.

I live for these things. The reason I do these einundfunf hour shifts is to attend conventions and see my online friends.
Looking forward to seeing you again and again and again.
