I almost missed this final flight, and I puffed up to the gate just in time. "Look, here comes Mickey!" they said, but I was glad to make the flight.

The captain was trying for a record, and it was quite the anticlimax after all the long flights I've taken to have the final one a mere 30 minutes of flying time. Actually 29 minutes, by my watch. I didn't bother with the snack they offered - I'd been snacking for hours in the Qantas Club in Sydney.

After all my travels, i've put on five kilos. All that grat food and wonderful company, and an almost total lack of exercise.

I spent most of yesterday sleeping, cayching up. And in two hours I've got my first taxi shift.

It was an amzing trip, I had a great time, now I have to pay back the plastic and start saving for the next.

And do a lot more writing. I am so far behind!

Those little hops are really surreal. :)

Five kilos! I was grateful to just put on one. I think it was all that snarfing that offset the damage. Of course, forgetting to eat several meals no doubt assisted.

Welcome back--you'll be planning the next one in no time. :)

They actually served a snack on a 30 minute flight? They would have had to start pushing the trolley down the aisle BEFORE takeoff!

When the takeoff is to the south, that means that arrival in Canberra is from the north, so it's a pretty simple leg off the end of one runway and onto the end of the other, with not much in the way of turns in between.

And yeah, they pull out the cart and roll it uphill before the climbout is complete, and they are still collecting stuff when the captain orders the cabin prepared for landing.

Usually it's a drink and a prepared snack - an apple and a muffin and a piece of cheese in Economy, something like that. Sometimes it's the "Cabin Service Olympics - hope you enjoy your indigestion, sir!".

Glad you are back. I totally forgot to arrange with you about the jumper. Very very sorry! How much do I owe you and how do you want me to pay???? Hope it didn't put your luggage over. Does this mean I owe you a Russian hat?

I have to use my organiser better......

You may buy me a drink when next you see me. I'll send it when I have a moment, but really the only payment I want is the pleasure of seeing your smile when you put it on.

I don't think I'll be seeing you in St Petersburg. ***sigh*** Next trip is probably Melbourne in October, and that might be a matter of driving down.

Its not fair if I don't pay.

I will see you in Melbourne. We are all booked in.:) I hope they don't stuff the booking like adelaide did. Grr. It sounds like the victorians have it all in hand.
