Home. Tired. Happy.
Just about to hit the sack in anticipation of some sleep before going on shift at dawn tomorrow. My cold has been making me feel seedy, and even more deaf than usual, but it isn't a bad one, and thankfully my sinuses and ears didn't get even more clogged up on the flight(s) back. I chew gum during climbout and descent to keep me tubes open - the result of experience.
Went for a walk up to the Beehive in the morning to get some shots of RingBear visiting an unmistakably Wellington landmark. Got back in time for the farewell brunch, a bittersweet experience as I savoured the last few moments with my friends, and then hugged them all goodbye. Teotakuu brought tears to my eyes with her moving readings from Keri Hulme's "The Bone People", a very very New Zealand book.
Had a bit of a taxi adventure on the way back to the airport, where I was greeted by a comrade from a frequent flyer community. Two flights back home via Sydney, including Qantas putting us on an earlier flight than the one booked, which was nice.
I'll write more later, but at the moment I'm extremely tired. Just want to say that I had a superb time in Wellington. Convention ran smoothly, had some new experiences, met some new friends, it's all good.
