We're a week into spring and today is cold and grey and drizzly and I've got a very sore throat. I suspect it's the beginning of tonsilitis, because it feels like that.

Went up to Kerri this morning and said "I've got throat rot!"

She peered down the hole with a torch and a screwdriver and couldn't find anything. "Maybe a bit red, I'll take another look tonight."

It hasn't gotten any worse, but I'm keeping a close eye on it and a couple of Nurofens. It's slightly painful to swallow. I've had tonsilitis before and last time I went downhill fast and it was NO FUN at all.

Oh yeah. I rang up the taxi company to book my practical driving test and Brian came back and said I had to have my health certificate and police check before they'd take a booking. I've got one, waiting on the other.

He must have told me this before, but I forgot the details and the paperwork doesn't mention it (I checked). I should be right with the police check, it's just that I have to wait for maybe six weeks for it to come through, and I'm now out of things to do, apart from polishing up the car and learning routes and zone numbers.

Sorry about the throat (yuck) and the delay. Hope both are in order sooner than you expect.

A screwdriver? Huh. I knew Aussies are different, but I didn't know you were born with inspections lids. *ducks and runs, again*
Am sending you a (virtual) pot of hot milk with honey. Soothes the throat, and might even kill a bug or two.

I hope you feel better soon. There seems to be so many bugs around this time of year. I'm just getting over a terrible sore throat too. A trip to the doctor and some antibiotics fixed me up :-)
