Sep. 11th, 2009 11:25 amI've got a Levenger Circa notebook travelling in the cab every shift nowadays. It's got a list of characters, a list of chapters, notes about plot and twists, ideas and wild notions.
Because when I'm driving, I'm thinking. Think-driving and blowing over the limit.
This novel is turning into one big jigsaw puzzle and I need to keep the pieces sorted out. One big drawback is that I can't go back and change already posted chapters.
Well, I can, for minor things. I got Ann's name wrong, spelling it as Anne in an early post. I checked "Manly Books", and it's Ann there, so Ann it is here.
I also checked her age. 32 in 2004, so she's about 37 now. As Wombles pointed out, she's a cougar!
She had to be 32 in 2004 because she was conceived when Americans were still walking the streets of Sydney on Vietnam War R&R.
And now she's getting old along with me. But still a hopeless romantic.
Anyway. I'm having a lot of fun with this. And even if I can't get much writing done when i'm driving, I can get a lot of thinking done. Let's hope it shows.
