I'm now staying at an old Queenslander house on a hill outside Rocky. All my sibs are here, along with my mother and our various children and three grandchilder. Lots of shared meals, tea and coffee, beer and a bottle of Moet or two.

Funny place. It's a bit like the place we grew up at south of Brisbane, in a semi-rural location that is now all suburbs and shopping centres.

Here, we're at the end of a dirt road, there's a nearby highway along which hurtle enormous B-double semis, and the main railway west from Rocky. Every fifteen minutes there's a train - a hundred or hundred and fifty wagon affair full of coal, two engines at the front and two in the middle and a lot of coal. They go to to the port full, and another fifteen minutes there's another one coming back empty.

Kangaroos and parrots abound. An echidna was spotted a couple of days ago. Snakes and frogs and stuff. A part Siamese kitten from the farm next door expanding its territory.

Awesome sunset last night, just as we were getting the barbie under way.

A lazy time, though we're having a working bee at Mum's house today to do the things she's grown too frail fro - can't expect her to get up on the roof and clean the gutters.

Saturday will come far too fast.

Internet connection speed is abysmal. Don't expect albums full of photographs.
