Pete's Multimedia cab
Jan. 14th, 2008 01:12 pm“That is soooo cool!”
I’m hearing this a lot from my passengers now, when they catch sight of my iPod, busily playing a music video. I found a DVD called “Late Night Moods” with a selection of largely female singers. Missy Higgins, Norah Jones, Jann Arden, Sheryl Crow and a whole bunch more.
I’ve also got a few singles, and I had David Campbell doing “Mack The Knife” – a very superior swing performance – the other night when a DC fan hopped in. She was over the moon, and sang along to it and some of the other tunes.
What I really need is a jazz DVD for the older bunch who don’t find Britney Spears quite so fascinating. Like me.
But I’ve got to admit that the iPod is very cool. It sits up front on the dash, playing a tiny video, but still clear enough for my passengers to appreciate, especially if they are sitting in the front seat.
If I don’t have a video, I have a wide selection of music, from Locatelli to Meatloaf.
And when there’s nobody in the cab, and I’m sitting on a rank all by myself, I’ve got movies to watch. Camelot, Borat, O Brother Where Art Thou?
And lately I’ve taken to uploading my West Wing episodes. With subtitles, so I can catch all the jargon. Now that’s cool!
