Lots of them, beginning with my friends.

Friday night I listened to JimOnTheRadio, who has got to be one of the happiest BookCrossers ever. He's never going to live down that Noddy/Big Ears thing, but at least he recognises the humour in it.

It's wonderful to have someone warm in bed to snuggle up with - especially when they've warmed the bed up first and you've been down in the cold office that doesn't have the ducted heating.

Yin and yang; it all evens up, and sometimes I get a cold body pressed up close to mine.

A cat or two is OK, but not quite the same. Mind you, there's a lot to be said for a purring cat. They enjoy the attention, and I enjoy stroking them. Mutual benefit.

I got up early and the internet was down, so I wrote a bit on my current novel until it came up again. I know where this one's going, I'm just not sure how it's going to get there.

Morning was market and supermarket, with weekend newspapers and coffee and cats in there somewhere. And a satisfying Sudoku.

Lunch was leftover from the slow cooked dinner we had on Friday - which was chicken drumsticks and red wine and tomatoes and onions and stuff and totally yummy. These meals are usually better on the second day. I had mine with rice, which I like and Kerri doesn't. (We had pasta on Friday night).

Afternoon was a nap (I was up at 0430, gimme a break!) and a run.

While we were off at the market I got to test out the DVD recorder by transferring Barry Lyndon from video to DVD. Not that I'm a big fan of the movie, just that it was part of a set of Kubrick films I'd been silly enough to buy in video rather than DVD.

Worked fine, and I was able to record Doctor Who this evening. The dam' remote has more buttons on it than the next three combined, but at least it all feeds into a menu on the TV screen which is reasonably easy to understand.

And now I'm off to bed to curl up with a good book - "Over the Moon at The Big Lizard Diner" and a warm wife.
