Dam' clouds

Yesterday while Kerri was in Sydney, I had the car to myself. The good car with six cylinders, not the Magna. So I packed up my new tripod, my camera, a book, dressed myself in shorts and thongs, and headed up Mount Ainslie. There were maybe three people (including me) at the lookout, but I wanted a spot that was secluded, in the sunshine, but still had that great view.

I'd sussed out an area from below that was bare of trees and not visible from the lookout, and I found a path leading down there. A well-made path with steps and plaques and handrails. Turns out that the spot I wanted was in plain sight of the path, which seemed to turn into a busy street as lunchtime approached. If I went much further around the side of the mountain i couldn't find a spot that had me in sunlight and the city in the background. I set up here and there, did a few test shots, but the increasing cloud cover and the increasing volume of customer traffic meant that I couldn't get the shot I wanted. Bugger.

I've been buying clothes off ebay again. Columbia shorts and trousers. Even with postage costs included, they are till way cheaper than buying in the local outlets.
