Booked St Pauls
Jun. 6th, 2006 08:52 pmI booked my two nights in the St Pauls hostel in London for the end of June. It's getting closer and I'm getting more excited. Birmingham, here I come!
Kerri's off to Sydney tomorrow for two nights. Kerri's mother gets in tomorrow, and her brother arrives on Friday.
I bought a new folding tripod for my camera. The old one had a camera platform that was slightly tilted, and incapable of precise adjustment - the next "step" tilted it about the same amount the other way. A small tilt is OK, because I can always crop, but when I'm trying to do a series of panning shots to make a panorama it's a real pain, because they won't match up. So I got another model, very slightly longer and about a hundred grams heavier. Size and weight are critical because I have to carry this thing around with me. Generally not on a plane, but usually in a small daypack, and it is vital that it fit. I insisted on pulling it out of the packaging in the shop and fiddling with it very carefully!
I also got my hair cut. I hate having hair over my ears. My feeling is that if it needs a comb, it's too long.
Listening to Jenny Kendall-Tobias at the moment. As is ResQgeek in Alexandria in Virginia!
And she's loving it! She has a lot of fun talking about her global audience. And I have a lot of fun listening to her. I love the way that she and Jim Hawkins laugh their way through their shows.
