Got out of that one lightly

Got mildly purple with Squirty Bertie. Easy to get carried away with sex, but a light touch is probably best. Everyone knows what I'm talking about, yeah? I don't need to spell it out.

I think i managed to avoid schmaltz with the farewell scene. Distracting the reader with sex and romance.

There's another difficult scene coming up when Dee drops into the Dream Cafe. I still have no idea why she hasn't shown up in a year. I'm sure I'll think of something.

Likewise Albert and Angela. What happens to them? it's kind of crucial, but I've still got only the dimmest notion of how it's going to happen.

I've got thirty two hours left and 26 600 words to write. And I think my brain has stopped working. I'm not sure this is going to happen. Thank goodness for Manlyreader the recycled lawyer. He's going to have to carry the story on the doomed plunge downhill.

I'm gunna cheat.

Word count verification doesn't end until a minute before midnight, Howland Island time. I think that's somewhere west of Hawaii. And I'm going to use as much of that time as I can, which is probably an additional twenty hours or so. I figure I'm entitled, cos I was so tired at the moment of 00:01 1 November that I went to bed and didn't write anything until that night, and it was only a hundred words or so.

Besides, I've cheated already by writing the first chapter months ago. I'm not including that in the word count. Despite the temptation.
