I picked up a ream of paper for the printer, ten Australia Post satchels, ten size 2 padded envelopes, and plonked them on the counter. About $60 all up, with small discounts. A few minutes later I'd signed away nearly a thousand dollars for ten or twenty times as much, with the promise of free delivery and the advice that I was saving heaps.

Well, I was. The discount on ten items is moderate, but a hundred or two hundred and they really add up. It's like getting it for half price. And I didn't have to lug it all home. Good old Australia Post! Now I just have to find room for it all in my overcrowded little kingdom...

thebiblioholic spotted him first. Richard Bach has joined BookCrossing. Yup, that Richard Bach!

In other news, the rain is gone, we're having normal Canberra winter weather - cool and clear. Hard frost every morning, but lovely days.

Sodoku is our newest craze - nine squares of nine numbers 1 to 9. I got one of the early, easy ones out, and found them impossible to do after that. DD came up with a new strategy, and I got the 5 star difficulty one done in an hour or so yesterday. kerri didn't believe me, but there it was. Three star succumbed in 14 minutes. But who's counting?
