A New Hearing Date
Mar. 5th, 2005 08:10 amDespite all of the ear-oiling and flushing out, my hearing didn't improve and I was starting to make noises about ear cancer. Not that anybody was listening, though Kerri told me to go see a doctor I'd have to pay for.
And then with a few slurping sounds over a few days, it all came good again. "Glue ear", she said, and gave me a bit more detail than I really needed, but the guts of it was that the cold I caught in Washington had somehow migrated into my Eustachian Tube (I hope I've got that right and am not making some hideously embarrassing mistake) and gummed up the works. Despite removing chunks of earwax, nothing helped until the innards drained. Which they did, and I can hear out of both sides now, which is a great relief to those around me.
We're now entering Day Two of the "When Will Kerri Notice My New Glasses?" challenge. DD and I went to Belconnen to pick up my new multifocals. Slipped them on and didn't feel at all seasick. A little bit of getting used to, mainly because they are a little tight around the nose, or something, but the improvements in close and distance vision are amazing. They even come with a pair of snap on polarised shades, shich seem to have small but powerful magnets to hold them on. Tres Cool!
I went for another bookabout yesterday morning. Photographed balloons, joggers, and so on around the lake. Ran out of smace on the card. Again.
More work on Thuh Secret Project. I've got one painting all but done and need to map out the second before starting.
