Rocky Article

Mum in Rocky sent me this article from the Rockhampton paper. Looks like the journo is into BookCrossing, left a book at the airport, waited for someone to pick it up and then ambushed them with a camera.

Enthusiasm is all very fine, but I'm not entirely happy with this.

It's a little unsettling to me also, but perhaps she asked the lady's permission?

I just checked the journal for the book (since the entire BCID is visible in the photo. Its a shame they ambused her...maybe she'd have made a journal entry if they hadn't pushed quite so hard?

The BBC did a similar thing to a bloke who picked up one of my books live on camera.... He never has journalled it, and im ashamed to say that its probably put him off for life!

EEP!

That would freak me out if I was new to BC. A camera is terrible. I would have dropped the book and vanished!

I noticed the book is Peter Moore's The Wrong Way Home, so I sent him an email pointer to the picture on flickr. I don't know if he will be able to view the full-size image if he isn't a Flickr member and/or friended by you (I'm not all that familiar with what the various restrictions are). If he can't get to it, is it ok if I mail him a copy of the file?

That's fine - I'm not sure that I can rightfully claim copyright!
