What about Oxford?

[identity profile] skyring.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Haven't been to Oxford. Been near it, Christchurch is only 40 kilometres away, but it's not on the highway. And in Australia I haven't been that far north.

Have to ask, what or where is XDT?

[identity profile] elhamisabel.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 12:42 pm (UTC)(link)
btw: watch out for my entry tonight...

[identity profile] skyring.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the code for the railway station at CDG. Bit of a cheat, really!

[identity profile] elhamisabel.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 12:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Now I really wonder where the Frankensteiner Platz is...

By the way, I just found this foto by another German BCer, MrBones, on flickr:

Of course I had to think of you.

Yeah. An animal drooling. That's me all right.

The omnibussebahn stopped there for my hostel. Surely you remember. "Fronk-en-steen?" I asked you for the correct pronunciation.

[identity profile] elhamisabel.livejournal.com 2006-06-02 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
hehe. of course I remember where that was. Dry irony is apparentl not what you excell in... ;-P

OK, I'll bite.

Paris - (XDT) Charles - de - Gaulle / TGV Railway Station

I googled and got that. Was he in Paris?

It's the code for the train station at CDG. I lugged my baggage through there in April. "Ou est la gare?" I asked all the Frenchies I could see, but they ignored me, cette vile croutons!

I was itching for une chance to show off mon French from 30 annees back, and "Ou est la gare, garcon?" was droite out of le textlivre.

I enjoyed introducing myself. "Moi, Aussie," I'd declare to some unsuspectant homme.

I couldn't resist either, but it was harder than I expected it to be!

I was trying to be as elliptical as possible. I put Alexandria in for you, but Arlington would have been better, because I've been to both. Like Queenstown - there's one in New Zealand as well.

This is off topic, but I wanted to introduce myself since I've added you to my friends list. My name is Laura and I found your journal link at the BC yahoo group. :)
