White Swan

White Swan
White Swan,
originally uploaded by skyring.
I got a postcard from elhamisabel today (Hmmm, how'd she get my address? No worries, drop in some day!) showing a white swan with a fluffy back.

I know what these little fluffballs are - the swans here do exactly the same thing. Makes it a bit puzzling when you see a family of swans coming across the lake - the two adults making swan noises and all these cygnet noises coming from somewhere invisible.

Then they arrive and unload, the kids jumping off into the water, the parents coming closer for a sandwich.

Of course here they are black, so it's not as easy to see the little ones until they get close.

Thanks for the postcard, elhamisabel. you are a sweetie for thinking of me!

Ah, Elham conspiring to send you a postcard. Swans, 'course. Cute! :-)
Hey, you changed your standard icon! Isn't that one of the photos from Osaka?

Cari and I took pictures of each other with flowers in our hair. She does it a lot better than I!

Glad it arrived! Took a week to do so.
As to your address: eh...remember someone sent you Sense&Sensibility (or another Jane Austen book) for Christmas 2004? ;-)

And how could I *not* think of you when I saw this swan on the Sunday at the airport shop???
:-D

Your postcard was the sunshine on a cold grey day!

no wonder Sirroy has started to attend Pete's Charm School. Every sentence you utter is made to charm the opposite sex. ;-)

It seems that way, doesn't it? But it was lovely to get your postcard, and my heart felt warmer as I read it.
