skyringOK, the points from my recent trips are gradually being posted, and on checking my Qantas Frequent Flyer page I find that I'm up to 161 000 miles and enough status points to get Gold status, which is now displayed. I'll get the welcome kit, luggage tags and so on in a few weeks.
Not a great deal of advantage for me, except that I now get free Qantas Club membership (and reciprocal lounge access with partner airlines) and access to a bigger bucket of seats when booking award flights.
On referencing my spreadsheet, I'm still on track for Platinum, though one of my flights came out ten points less than planned, wiping out my "buffer".
