I was sore tempted to put:

FOUR MOVIES YOU COULD WATCH OVER AND OVER
+ Groundhog Day
+ Groundhog Day
+ Groundhog Day
+ Groundhog Day

Just about everyone I know has travelled more than I have.

Look at Woosang!

eh?

What did I do?

I travelled when I was little as the parents kept moving. The Aust Giv service in the 1970's was big on sending its employees and their families so some place. It was painful as a child to keep moving. In the last 3 years only have I settled in one place. :) Sounds great but sucks in real life. I swore when my son was born that he would grow up in one place and go to one school if at all possible.

Born in rural Victoria, moved to Melbourne, moved to Queensland where we lived in eleven different houses and I attended seven different schools.

I made much the same vow - my children would grow up with the same set of friends.

My son just graduated from high school and in the same group was the young man who had been the pre-schooler assigned to my son as his "buddy" on his first day.

My daughter copped the tail end of Kerri's naval career, but from Year One she's attended the local primary school, high school, college and university.

But you know what? Neither of them knows how much this stability means, because they never had the constant travelling around and losing friends that we did.

Glad I am not the only one then. :)

California Dreamin' was the song that got me through my wait to emigrate to California. I still love it.

I have no desire to go to California but 'California Dreaming' is one of my all time favourite songs. I love the hope.

California, as WhiteRaven will tell you, is a wonderful place. Los Angeles horrifies me, but I fell in love with San Francisco. The song is right - you'll meet some gentle people there. And if you want to see one of the gentlest, then go see The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill on now at Electric Shadows.

I love that movie! Made my friend take me to see it for my birthday over the summer.

Love your picks for 4 songs...but then you knew I would.

Loved that song since I first heard it! And for a bonus San Francisco mention, there's the version Barbra Streisand sang to Ryan O'Neal.
