I'm not real keen on this idea. Getting off a long flight and immediately hopping into a car in a strange city on the wrong side of the road, well, make sure they have their insurance fully paid up!
But yes, it would certainly be quicker than going to Melbourne and then to Canberra. The freeway goes right past the airport, and it's just a couple of turns and traffic lights from the terminal carpark onto the freeway which goes all the way to Canberra with no traffic lights. Just a stop about fifteen minutes down the road to pay a $3.30 toll. Then it's 110 km/h all the way onto Canberra's main street. Two hours at that speed. Once you're on the freeway, the only turn is about an hour and a half down the road where you turn off past Goulburn onto the Federal Highway, which is more freeway.
