Must be hormones
May. 3rd, 2005 01:00 pmEvery now and then Kerri gets an attack of the tidies, and scoops up all our comfortable clutter, chucking it out or organising it away or both.
TD and I just sort of duck our heads and keep out of the way and hope too many of our treasures don't get swept up in the storm. I was even forced to go through my wardrobe and get rid of a few items of clothing. Undies and socks from ten years ago I cut loose. I generally wear 'em until the last strand of elastic goes, but I figured a couple of token offerings to the goddess of anticlutter might help ease the storm.
Besides which, I generally go through the bin afterwards and retrieve anything that shouldn't be thrown away.
Went out to the dump on sunday arvo and got rid of ancient bean bag, nappies from long ago, old threadbare sheets, suff like that. Huge pile.
I'd been putting off the beanbag for a while. It was too big to fit in the rubbish bin in one lump, and though I could have emptied the "beans" out, I had vissions of the truck picking the bin up and the beans flowing away on the wind...
New mattress on TS's bed. His lanky frame has been flattening out the old foam one and he complains of soreness. New innerspring mattress arrived yesterday. funny to see the dog jumping up onto it - it's a few centimetres higher and she just hadn't allowed for it. So seven times in a row she fell short and had to scrabble furiously for traction (bit like the cat on my bare legs sometimes - my right thigh is a mass of little scars and scabs from her partially successful attemts to jump into my lap).
