Off we go, into the wild black yonder

skyring1930 Wheels up and airborne to Sydney – and the world! Finished packing and cramming everything in. Kerri tells me that I’ve been grumpy and nervous these past two days. I hadn’t realised it. But I live in fear of forgetting something vital, something expensive, something obvious. [Later – what I don’t have enough of is time!]
So here I am. On my way. I think I’ve got everything packed. Lots of books! The young lady at the check in counter told me I was hugely overweight until I managed to convince her that I was going to London and London was in the USA (or at least on the way there) and so I had the generous US baggage allowance (which I couldn’t possibly lift, if I took full advantage of it). As it is, my bags are both labelled as “Heavy - Possible lift assistance required.” Dunno about baggage handlers, but it’s just me at the far end!
It’s dark outside. It will be dark until the borders of Europe.
