Shiny Teeth Imperial Glory

It's been nearly 20 years since I saw a dentist, but I've been badgered by my wife into seeing one, fearful my teeth will fall out if I leave it another twenty. The last time was 1985, when I fled in terror from my childhood dentist, who was keen to see my impacted wisdom teeth removed. I still have the X-rays tucked away somewhere, showing a couple of molars lying sidewise in a most odd-looking arrangement.

They have given me no trouble besides the occasional fragment of hard food, such as a fragment of nut, getting wedged in amongst the exposed roots, so I have let them be. I've lost no fillings, i've had no toothaches, I saw no need to pay for the privilege of having a bunch of strangers arm-wrestle inside my mouth.

But I was happy to send my children off on a regular basis. My son in particular, with a mouthful of mangled teeth. He's spent more time staring at ceilings than any reasonable child has a right to expect. But the braces are off now, and his retainers and clips are only a week away from moving to a permanent night shift. Son and daughter smiled as I slumped off my my appointment this morning. "Have fun!" they trilled.

I did. I brought along a copy of Jaws to release in the waiting room, and I did my best to relax as twenty years of calcium, tar and cement were chiseled off. A far cry from the dentist of my childhood, who had a mechanical drill operated by levers and whirring pulleys and used to sing popular songs of a previous age as he rested his elbows on my trembling lip. This chap was quick and efficient and as near painless as could be. Even the extraction from my wallet of $205 was eased electronically, and I consoled myself with the thought that ten dollars a year for dental care was pretty good going.

My problem with my INSERT query turned out to be embarrassingly easy to solve - I'm misread my manual and listed the field names in single quotes, a fact pointed out to me by one of the other site users. I fixed that with eight keystrokes, ran it up and it worked fine. So now people can register on my site and log in to find that it doesn't actually do anything. Next step is to put in a navigation system and get some content going.

Santos has jumped up 69c from my latest purchase price of a couple of weeks ago and is now higher than Amcor. I'll keep an eye on the two and see if I can reverse the deal for a third time. This is working out nicely. It helps that the two stocks are withing spitting distance of each other around the $7.00 mark - makes it easy to see which is ahead. At the moment there's only nine cents the difference, I'd like it to open out a bit more before swapping over.

A bit disconcerting really. I'm making more out of trading a few shares than I am at selling books. What sort of honest living is this?
